    HISTORY OF DEPARTMENT OF PAEDIATRICS
(A DECADE OF GROWTH AND EXPANSION)

In the year 2002, the status of department of paediatrics was raised to Centre for Child Health (CCH) to accommodate the expanding stature and to provide comprehensive health care from birth to 16 year. The CCH touches all the aspects related to children during illness as well as health. CCH has expanded its concerns from therapeutic to preventive, social and education in the field of child health. The CCH provides best of the care to children from birth to 16 year through co-coordinated effort of its three department, which includes department of Paediatrics, department of neonatology and department of Paediatric surgery.

The Centre started expanding itself 20 year backs when the process of adding Paediatric specialties was started.
