The specialty of Cardiology has undergone a see change in
the last 50 years particulary in the last decade. Starting with the
expertise in clinical cardiology with the use of stethoscope and the ECG
machine alone in the earlier days, the Cardiologist of today is able to interpret,
diagnose and
treat his patients on evidence based medicine with objective and subjective
results. The cardiology Department of S.G.R.H. is today equipped with the
latest state-of-the-art equipment in addition to having consultants of
national and international repute and are not only able to achieve the best
for the patients but can produce equally good results if not better than
anywhere else in the world, starting from clinical cardiology, non-invasive
and interventional cardiology including primary angioplasty in emergency and
electro-physiology.
